The Muscle Car Is Born
Performance Years Enterprises is proud to announce our 6th ANNIVERSARY Pontiac Die Cast Collectible. This year we are honoring the birth of the Muscle Car: the 1964 Pontiac GTO!
The GTO started life as an option package on the 1964 LeMans. A big cube engine in a mid-size car with a bunch of go-fast goodies and a lot of eye candy. This car was such an instant success that Pontiac added the GTO to the model line up in 1965. The rest is history! We optioned our 64 Goat with a 389 Tri-Power (with the later improved carb. linkage) a Hurst 4-speed and 3.90:1 Safe-T-Track rear axle.
We will be producing a 40th Anniversary Limited Edition. ONLY 1000 will be produced along with 126 SPECIAL Black Chrome Chase Cars and SIX (6) GOLD Plated Cars.
The cars will be painted Starlight black with a parchment (white) interior. We have asked that a chrome Hurst Dazzler mag wheel and a slightly larger than stock red line tire be made for these cars. This would definitely be a period correct add on for the GTO of that era. The car will be a highly detailed car with many extra paint detailing done to the engine compartment, interior and undercarriage.
A Special 40th Anniversary window box will be decorated with the GTOAA and POCI National Convention logos. And as always we will include a full size reproduction window sticker for the 64 GTO.
If you would like to continue your matching serial number set from last years issue, please call early to get it reserved. We will hold numbers until mid June. Give us a call if interested in one of the matching black chrome chase cars. These sold out very fast last year & with only 126 made, it makes for a very unique collectible. These will be sold as a set (black painted & black chrome) for $150.00, ($10.00 discount). The SIX gold plated cars will again be phone auctioned later this summer. Let us know if interested and we will be sure you are notified.
The SIX GOLD Plated 1964 GTOs will be phone auctioned January, 2005. Check the GOLD GTO Auction page for more details.
Thank you for your interest in our Pontiac Series and Happy Collecting!
We would like to thank Richard Koss for allowing us to photo and measure his beautifully restored 1964 Tri-Power GTO.
